CCP Attempts to Woo New Zealand Amid Trump Tariff Worries

Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Leader Xi Jinping has told New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon that New Zealanders should view Beijing as an “opportunity” rather than a threat. It comes after the conservative-leaning New Zealand government has gradually returned to aligning itself with its traditional Western allies while making efforts to maintain economic ties with China. The two leaders met face-to-face over the weekend in Lima, Peru, at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting.
