
Small Business Owners Decry Looming Postal Strike’s Disruption During ‘Busiest’ Shopping Season

A national postal strike leading up to the holiday season will impact Canadian shoppers and retailers alike, but the repercussions will be particularly severe for small business owners, advocates say. The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) issued a 72-hour strike notice to Canada Post Nov. 12. The union’s urban and rural workers will be in a legal position to strike Nov. 15 if a deal isn’t reached.
