
Britain Seeks Deeper Ties With Indonesia and South Korea Over Security and Growth
Foreign Secretary David Lammy’s visit to Indonesia and South Korea has highlighted Britain’s determination to deepen its ties with the Indo-Pacific nations over security, economic growth and clean energy transition. Lammy held talks with the South Korean leadership on Monday, following his visit to Jakarta on Sunday. The foreign secretary thanked the South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul for cooperation to bolster global security. The visit comes as Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused North Korea of sending 10,000 troops to help Russia’s invasion of his country. The move was described by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer as “an act of desperation,” while NATO Chief Mark Rutte said there was no evidence of Pyongyang’s presence at this stage....
