Peer Calls for Inquiry Into BBC Impartiality Over Israel–Hamas Coverage

A peer and former governor of the BBC has called for an inquiry into the broadcaster’s coverage of the Israel–Hamas war. Baroness Ruth Deech made the call during a debate in the House of Lords on Tuesday, saying that the hatred seen since the Oct. 7, 2023 terror attack on Israel “has to some extent been fed by the BBC.” The independent cross bench peer said: “There have recently been two independent reports, one of which I co-signed, which pointed out in great detail mistakes and bias on the part of the BBC.
