Report Reveals Extent of Illegal Immigration in Europe

A new report has estimated the number of illegal immigrants present in 12 countries across Europe. The study, conducted by the University of Oxford’s Measuring Irregular Migration (MIrreM) project, estimated there are up to 3.2 million illegal immigrants (termed “irregular migrants” in the report) living across 12 countries on the continent. However, the true figure could prove higher, as the report does not count asylum seekers in its data. It attempted to quantify the number of illegal immigrants in Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain. and the UK.
