Immigration Issues: Surge at the Borders

A recent report by U.S. Immigration and Law Enforcement (ICE) revealed significant numbers of illegal immigrants with criminal histories on ICE’s national docket. That includes a high volume of illegal immigrants convicted of homicide and sexual assault. The numbers continue to rise on the southern border, but what has gone largely unnoticed is the record-breaking number of crossings over the northern border from Canada by individuals on the terror watch list. A key finding in the report is that “under current processes, CBP and ICE cannot ensure they are keeping high-risk noncitizens without identification from entering the country. Additionally, TSA cannot ensure its vetting and screening procedures prevent high-risk noncitizens who may pose a threat to the flying public from boarding domestic flights.”...
