‘Dangerous Person’ Alert Issued as Alberta RCMP Seek Armed Robbery Suspects

Alberta RCMP say they have been unsuccessful in tracking down the two armed robbery suspects who prompted a “dangerous person alert” in a small town 90 minutes west of Edmonton. It’s believed the men are no longer in the Mayerthorpe area and that there is no immediate threat to the community, police said. The emergency alert was issued at 10:15 a.m. on Sept. 17 for Mayerthorpe and Lac Ste. Anne County after Mounties responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. Officers found the vehicle abandoned a short time later. “Two men armed with guns are on foot after a robbery,” the alert said. “Do not open the door to strangers or pick up hitchhikers. Do not approach suspects.”...
