Quebec Liberal MP Says Her Constituents Want Trudeau to Step Down

Liberal MP Alexandra Mendès says “dozens and dozens” of her constituents want Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to resign as party leader. “My constituents do not see Mr. Trudeau as the person who should lead the party into the next election, and that’s the message that I carry,” Mendès, a Quebec MP, said in a Sept. 9 interview with Radio-Canada. “I didn’t hear it from two, three people. I heard it from dozens and dozens of people.” Mendès said that she herself doesn’t want Trudeau to step down. “If I want to finally meet the expectations of my voters in the slightest, yes, there would have to be a change of leader, but that is not my personal wish,” she said....
