Protests Erupt, Strikes Planned in Israel After Hostage Deaths

Protests have erupted and Israelis are planning workers’ strikes in the wake of the discovery of the bodies of six hostages apparently killed by the Hamas terrorist group. Early on Sunday, Israel announced that it had discovered the remains of six hostages in Gaza killed shortly before an Israeli operation that would have rescued them. Israelis are planning wide-scale protests to push the government to accept a cease-fire deal to return the remaining hostages.
