
Government Sets Up Expert Group to Speed Up Delivery of New Homes
Labour has set up an expert group to speed up its planning system reform and build 1.5 million homes. Launched by Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner, the New Homes Accelerator will “help end the housing crisis” and build “hundreds of thousands of new homes stuck in the planning system,” the government said in a statement on Thursday. The government has identified 200 large sites that are ready but haven’t yet started construction work. They could deliver up to 300,000 new homes, according to officials.
