Senator Faruqi’s Participation in Antisemitism Investigation ‘Inappropriate’: Jewish MP

Jewish Liberal MP Julian Leeser has criticised a potential move by the Greens to involve Senator Mehreen Faruqi in deciding whether a probe into antisemitism at universities will come to fruition. The Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee is holding an inquiry to consider giving the investigation a green light. Leeser, said Faruqi had “inserted herself” into the committee, displacing Greens Senator David Shoebridge, who would normally sit in the chair. “Senator Faruqi has already stated she thinks the inquiry is politically motivated and that further demonstrates why her participation in this inquiry is so inappropriate,” Leeser told The Epoch Times....
