A district court in Iowa rejected a petition from TikTok to dismiss a lawsuit filed by the state, which accuses the company of enabling minors to access inappropriate content. In January, the State of Iowa sued TikTok and parent firm Bytedance, claiming that the defendants violated the Consumer Fraud Act “through misrepresentations, deceptions, false promises, and unfair practices,” according to an Aug. 26 ruling.
