
Israel Launches Major Operation in West Bank

Nine Palestinians are reported to have been killed after Israel sent troops into the West Bank Wednesday to carry out a counter-terrorist operation. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed it was operating in the cities of Jenin and Tulkarm but has not yet provided details. The Palestinian health ministry said two men—Qassam Muhammad Jabarin, 25, and Asem Walid Balout, 39—were killed in Jenin, and seven others were killed in nearby Tubas early Wednesday. The ministry—unlike the Gaza health ministry—is controlled by Fatah, rather than Hamas. It claims 600 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since Hamas launched its attacks on Israel on Oct. 7....
