
Thief Steals ‘Jaws of Life’ Tool as Oakland Fire Department Rescues Girl in Park

A thief made off with Oakland Fire Department’s “Jaws of Life” tool after firefighters rescued a girl at a local part on Aug. 23. City and fire officials are releasing few details of the theft as police investigate the incident. Fire crews were responding to a rescue call for a young girl at about 7:15 p.m. Friday at Marston Campbell Park, requiring the use of the life-saving tool used to pry open cars and other metal structures. “The rescue came out OK,” Fire Department spokesman Michael Hunt told The Epoch Times.
