DETROIT—Former President Donald Trump promised on Aug. 26 to create a Space National Guard if elected in November. “The time has come to create a space National Guard as the primary combat reserve of the U.S. Space Force,” Trump said, eliciting widespread applause from some 1,000 National Guard officers gathered for a convention of the National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUSA).
