Prosecutors Say Man Attacked Florida Solar Energy Facility, Businesses Over Israel Support

A Jordanian citizen residing in Orlando, Florida, has been charged with multiple counts of threatening to use explosives and the destruction of a solar energy facility as part of a series of anti-Israel attacks, the U.S. Department of Justice said on Aug. 15. “We allege that the defendant threatened to carry out hate-fueled mass violence in our country, motivated in part by a desire to target businesses for their perceived support of Israel,” Attorney General Merrick B. Garland said in a statement. Court records did not specify when or how the suspect entered the country.
