Ukraine’s top military commander said his forces now control some 380 square miles of Russia’s neighboring Kursk region. Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to drive Ukrainian forces out, and said Ukraine wanted to use the cross-border incursion to gain leverage in future peace negotiations. In a rare move, the US military announced it is sending a guided-missile submarine to the Middle East, plus accelerating the arrival of a carrier strike group to the region. The White House said Iran’s promised attack on Israel could come as soon as this week. Former President Donald Trump’s campaign said the Iranian regime hacked its internal communications.
