
Man Suspected of Killing Mother Fatally Shot by Police in Irvine

IRVINE, Calif.—A 37-year-old man suspected of stabbing his mother to death in Irvine, was fatally shot by police responding to the attack on Aug. 8. Police were dispatched at 2:51 p.m. on the day to reports of a man attacking a woman on Green Tree Lane near Royce Road, said Kyle Oldoerp of the Irvine Police Department. As officers arrived, they saw the suspect apparently stabbing the woman on the street, and it led to police shooting him, Oldoerp said. Police identified the suspect as Paul Parvea Montazer of Las Vegas. He is the son of the victim, 72-year-old Parvin Montazer of Irvine....
