
Manhunt Continues in Rural Alberta Fatal Shooting, Victim a County Employee

The victim killed in a shooting east of Calgary earlier this week that prompted an hours-long shelter-in-place order for area residents was an employee of Rocky View County. The perpetrators have yet to be identified and the RCMP is continuing its search for two “armed and dangerous” suspects, Alberta RCMP said in an Aug. 7 social media update. Strathmore RCMP officers responded to the intersection of Range Road 282 and Township Road 250, approximately 10 kilometres east of Calgary at noon on Aug. 6 where they found two gunshot victims, one dead and one with “superficial” gunshot wounds. A statement posted to the Rocky View County website late Aug. 6 said employee Colin Hough died “following an incident that occurred earlier today.”...
