‘Poker Chip’ Draw to Decide Argument Wording in Voter Guide for School Bond Measure

SANTA ANA, Calif.—A “poker chip” drawing will decide between competing arguments against a proposed $496 million bond measure for the Anaheim Union School District, Orange County election officials said Aug. 3. Kevin Carr of Stanton and Emili DeCrew of Anaheim both filed an argument against the district’s bond measure, but only one can be printed in the County Voter Information Guide for the 2024 Presidential General Election. The drawing will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, according to the Orange County Registrar of Voters. The Registrar will assign a poker chip to Carr and one to DeCrew, and then will blindly pull one chip from a bag....
