Government Working on Renewable Waste Management to Complement Net Zero Push

The Australian government is currently considering how its renewable waste management and recovery of resources can be improved. A spokesperson Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment, and Water (DCCEEW) told The Epoch Times that this consideration follows a request by environment ministers in October 2022 to strengthen Australia’s efforts towards meeting the 2030 targets under its National Waste Policy Action Plan. The plan including targets such as achieving an 80 percent recovery rate from all waste streams and significantly increasing the use of recycled contents. “Improvements in the waste and resource recovery sector will support Australia’s efforts towards net zero, particularly for organics,” the spokesperson said via email....
