Turkey Bans Instagram, Demands Compliance of Local Laws

Turkey blocked its citizens from accessing Instagram citing non-compliance with regulations, a decision taken after the app removed Turkish posts expressing condolences for the death of a Hamas leader. The ban on Instagram was instituted after the platform failed to comply with the country’s local regulations, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu said in a statement.
