Southern California Resident Kills Home Invasion Suspect

OCEANSIDE, Calif.—A resident shot and killed a home invasion suspect, the Oceanside Police Department said on July 30. At 7:22 p.m. July 29, the Oceanside Police Department received a radio call of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 4100 block of Diamond Circle, Officer Heather Mitchell said. Oceanside is a city in the North County of San Diego. The residents were home when a man entered their backyard armed with a rock and a stick, the officer said. The suspect entered the residence through a bedroom slider door and a woman was inside the bedroom. “The suspect threw a rock at a male resident of the home, striking him in the face,” Mitchell said. “The male resident retrieved a firearm and shot the suspect.”...
