Judge Finds Prince George RCMP Officer Guilty of Obstruction of Justice

A B.C. judge has found an RCMP officer guilty of obstructing justice after the officer asked a member of the public to delete a video made during an arrest of a suspect who later died in police custody. The incident happened in Prince George on July 18, 2017, according to the court documents released on July 25, 2024. Two RMCP officers were charged; however, only Const. Arthur Dalman was found guilty. “The allegation arises out of an investigation in which Constable Kim (“Kim”) was responding to a call of a person ‘casing motor vehicles,’” Judge Adrian Brooks wrote in his decision.
