
Five of the Top 10 Best Cities for Renters Are in the Midwest
Bismark and Fargo, North Dakota; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Overland Park, Kansas; and Lincoln, Nebraska have all been listed among the top 10 cities for renters in the United States. A recent study by WalletHub, a personal finance firm, compared 182 cities across the nation, ranking them according to rental affordability, quality of life, cost of living, job market, safety, recreation, and weather among several other metrics. According to WalletHub, more than 45 million American households now rent their homes. WalletHub Analyst Cassandra Happe told The Epoch Times that renting is now becoming more popular given the current housing market. “With the cost and stress of being a homeowner, a lot of people now prefer renting,” she said. “They are more focused on affordability and a good quality of life, rather than being burdened with excessive down payments and monthly mortgages.” She said others may have recently relocated or are in the process of relocating, and don’t want to be tied down to the expenses of purchasing a home....
