Prominent Short Seller Andrew Left Charged With Securities Fraud

Prominent activist short seller and market analyst Andrew Left has been criminally charged by federal prosecutors with multiple counts of securities fraud. According to a civil complaint in Los Angeles federal court, Mr. Left was charged with 17 counts of securities fraud, one count of participating in a securities fraud scheme and one count of making false statements to federal investigators. If convicted, Mr. Left, 54, could face a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison for the scheme.
