NJ Man Gets 40 Years for Violent Assaults on Orthodox Jews

A New Jersey man was sentenced on July 23 to 40 years in prison for committing bias-motivated violent assaults on members of the Orthodox Jewish community in and near Lakewood, New Jersey, according to the Department of Justice. Dion Marsh, 29, of Manchester, previously pleaded guilty in February for assaulting Orthodox Jews in New Jersey, admitting he willfully caused bodily injury to five victims and attempted to kill four of the victims solely because they were Jewish. Aside from a 40-year prison sentence, Mr. Marsh will have five years of supervised release. “Enough is enough–hate-fueled attacks on the Orthodox Jewish community are abhorrent, unlawful and contrary to our values as Americans,” said Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division in a press release....
