
Report Urges Government to Overcome ‘Resistance’ to Local Net-Zero Projects
A think tank has recommended that the government should take control of local net-zero projects to overcome “resistance” and achieve decarbonisation targets. On Monday a report by the think tank the Resolution Foundation detailed some of the major challenges facing the new Labour government as it sets out policies to decarbonise the UK economy at the pace required by legally binding carbon targets. The report said, however, local groups were likely to oppose new solar farms, battery storage, and onshore wind turbines projects.
