
Social Security Says Offices Closed, Online Services Unavailable Amid Worldwide Tech Outage

The Social Security Administration (SSA) closed its local offices on Friday in the midst of a worldwide tech outage impacting CrowdStrike and Microsoft services, it announced in a statement. The agency confirmed that due to the “worldwide IT outage, local Social Security offices are closed to the public” on July 19. From the statement, it’s not clear when the local offices will be reopened.
