Trump Media Shares Surge in Premarket Trading in Wake of Assassination Attempt

Shares of Trump Media & Technology Group skyrocketed early July 15 in premarket trading. Shared were up about 50 percent as of 7:32 a.m. ET, hitting $46. Former President Donald Trump, the majority owner of Trump Media, survived an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania over the weekend. A bullet struck the former president’s ear, and he was rushed from the scene. One rallygoer was killed and two seriously injured. The shooter was killed by law enforcement officials and the shooting is under investigation.
