NJ Man Arrested for Alleged Plot to Destroy Electrical Substation

An 18-year-old from New Jersey was arrested for allegedly soliciting another individual to destroy an electrical substation in the state using Molotov cocktails or mylar balloons, according to the Department of Justice. Andrew Takhistov, of East Brunswick, made his initial appearance in court on Thursday after he was arrested on Wednesday at Newark International Airport, where he was headed to Paris then Ukraine to fight Russia. “Andrew Takhistov was allegedly on his way to Ukraine to join the Russian Volunteer Corps when we arrested him on charges of recruiting an individual to destroy an electrical substation here in the United States in order to advance his white supremacist ideology,” said Attorney General Merrick Garland in a press release....
