Cause of Death Confirmed for Entertainment Journalist Sam Rubin

LOS ANGELES—KTLA-5 entertainment reporter Sam Rubin died of a heart attack caused by coronary artery disease, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner confirmed July 9. In its report, the medical examiner’s office said Mr. Rubin suffered from “ischemic heart disease due to atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.” The manner of death was listed as “natural.” Ischemic heart disease is a leading cause of death worldwide and affects around 126 million people, according to the National Institutes of Health.
