
Suspect Wounded by Deputy After Elderly Couple, Dog Found Dead
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif.—A man and woman in their 70s and their dog were killed in San Juan Capistrano Tuesday, and the suspect was shot by an Orange County sheriff’s deputy, authorities said. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a “domestic incident” at about 7:30 a.m. in the 32000 block of Alipaz Street. Deputies who arrived at the San Juan Mobile Estates complex found the bodies of a 77-year-old man and 79-year-old woman, and their dog was also found dead, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Matthew Parrish. While deputies were on the scene, a caller told dispatchers that a man covered in blood was chasing a maintenance worker nearby and stole a golf cart, Mr. Parrish said. Deputies found that 41-year-old suspect, who had driven the golf cart along a bike trail to a spot near Calle Arroyo, and during the ensuing confrontation he was shot by a deputy, Mr. Parrish said....
