Military Parachuter Hospitalized After Crash During Canada Day Performance

A member of the Canadian Armed Forces SkyHawks parachute team remains in hospital with serious injuries after crashing to the ground at a high rate of speed during a Canada Day performance in Ottawa. Videos shared to social media show the parachuter hitting the ground hard just after 3 p.m. in front of hundreds of spectators gathered on the lawn for the event on Parliament Hill.   On-site medical personnel rushed to aid the injured parachuter, who was later transported to hospital by Ottawa paramedics. The parachuter’s injuries are said to be serious, but non-life threatening.
