
Boil Water Advisory Issued for District of Columbia, Arlington County

A boil water advisory was issued on Wednesday night for the entire District of Columbia due to algal blooms in the Potomac River triggered by high temperatures. The District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water) said the precautionary advisory encompasses those at the Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, and Reagan National Airport. The agency said the advisory comes in response to a significant drop in water supply from the Washington Aqueduct, which has raised concerns about water quality. DC Water stated, “Customers should not drink the water without boiling it first.” The agency added, “We have no information that this incident contaminated the water, but we issue this advisory as a precaution while we test the water.”...
