Alleged Scammer Marianne Smyth Extradited to UK on Fraud Charges

Marianne Smyth, the woman accused of scamming multiple victims in the United States out tens of thousands of dollars, has been extradited to the United Kingdom, according to a U.S. official. Ms. Smyth allegedly stole close to $200,000 from her victims, which included reality TV producer Johnathan Walton, whom she befriended in Los Angeles in the early 2010s. She now faces charges of theft and fraud by abuse of position after allegedly scamming victims while working as an independent mortgage adviser in Northern Ireland from 2008 to 2010.
