Green Lobby Calls for Subsidy Revamp on Big Wind Farms: Report

Huge risk wind farm projects require a revamped subsidy system, according to a report by ex-Conservative MP Chris Skidmore’s net zero lobby group. On Friday, the Mission Zero Coalition released its “Pathways to a Net Zero Future” report, which said that large wind farm companies developing major projects lack certainty because of a government-run subsidy mechanism called Contracts for Difference (CfD) auctions. The report, authored by the former energy minister and RenewableUK Chief Executive Dan McGrail, called for alternative systems for large renewable energy projects.
