US Rents Rise in June After ‘Soft Winter’ Season: Report

Monthly rents across the United States increased in June as part of an accelerating trend into the summer season, according to digital property marketplace Zumper. Rent for one-bedroom places increased 1.5 percent this June to $1,526, while two-bedrooms grew 1.9 percent to $1,900, Zumper said in a June 25 report. On an annual basis, one-bedroom rents are up 1.5 percent and two-bedroom by 2.1 percent. “Following a soft winter, last month our national index recorded the highest monthly gains since the Fall of 2022 and rent growth has begun to accelerate into summer,” said CEO Anthemos Georgiades. The largest increases were seen in Plano, Texas, and Gilbert, Arizona, where monthly rents for one-bedroom rose by six percent or more in June.
