Homeless Man Suspected of Attacking 3 on Santa Monica Beach in Custody

SANTA MONICA, Calif.—A homeless man who allegedly tried to rob one woman and drown another at the beach in Santa Monica remained in custody on June 25. The suspect, 31-year-old Jawann Dwayne Garnett, was arrested around 9:45 a.m. on June 24, on the beach in the area of 1300 block of Ocean Front Walk, according to the Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD). Mr. Garnett was being held without bail, according to jail records. Lt.
