
Vitamix Recalls 569,000 Blending Containers and Blade Bases After Reports of Injuries
More than half a million Vitamix blending containers and blade bases—some costing up to $990—are being recalled nationwide as they pose a laceration hazard to users, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said in a notice on June 20. The recall impacts 569,000 Ascent and Venturist Series 8-ounce blending containers, 20-ounce blending containers, and blade bases, including units repaired as part of a previous recall announced in 2018, according to the Cleveland, Ohio-based manufacturer. The latest recall notice says the containers can separate from the blender’s blade base, exposing the blades, which can lead to a risk of lacerations among users.
