Regional Australians Eager for Nuclear to Cut Power Bills by up to 75 Percent, Protect Animals

Communities have responded to the Coalition’s plan to place seven nuclear plants at coal power stations across the nation. The plan, which would come to fruition if Peter Dutton is elected as prime minister, would include nuclear plants in the Gippsland region of Victoria, Callide and Tarong in Queensland, Port Augusta in South Australia, Collie in Western Australia and Mount Piper and Liddell in New South Wales. Some reactors could be up and running by 2035, according to the proposal. Within the regional communities, there has been a mixed reaction to the plan.
