Man Accused of Punching Santa Monica Pub Manager, Who Later Died, Faces Homicide Charge

A Venice man who allegedly punched a Santa Monica pub manager, knocking him out, was charged with homicide June 13 after the manager died, according to Santa Monica police. Leonard Hector Korpie, 26, was arrested June 11 after the incident but was identified by police as the main suspect June 13, according to police Lt. Erika Aklufi. In the early minutes of June 11, Santa Monica police responded to an altercation near Jameson’s Pub on the 2700 block of Main Street. Police said a fight broke out on the street when several patrons of the pub were asked to leave around midnight, including Mr. Korpie.
