Health Canada Recalls Thousands of Electric Kettles Due to Fire Hazard

Health Canada is recalling more than 20,000 electric kettles sold across the country due to a potential fire hazard. Three incidents of À la Cuisine electric kettle bases overheating have been reported as of May 30, Health Canada said in its recall notice. The base of the kettle can overheat and melt the plastic covering the electrical wiring after the appliance is plugged in, the notice said, adding that no injuries have been reported. The recall involves three types of stainless steel electric kettles with product numbers JF-788, FY-2010C, and JF-2015. Customers are being advised to stop using their kettle if it is labelled with any of these product numbers....
