
Dozens of Pro-Palestinian Protesters Arrested After Occupying Israeli Consulate in San Francisco
San Francisco police arrested 70 suspects who allegedly refused to vacate the Israeli Consulate in San Francisco June 3 during an anti-Israel protest. The International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network, a group of Jews who advocate for the Palestinian people, organized the protest. The group claims it is committed to dismantling what they say is Israeli apartheid, the return of Palestinian refugees, and ending the Israeli colonization of historic Palestine, according to the organization’s website. Video of Monday’s occupation of the consulate in San Francisco showed demonstrators taking over the lobby of the building on the 400 block of Montgomery Street. The protest was one of the hundreds of worldwide demonstrations by pro-Palestinian organizations in response to Israel’s bombing of Gaza after the terror group Hamas’s Oct. 7 invasion of Israel.
