Garland to Blast Republican Attacks Amid Contempt Threat

Attorney General Merrick Garland will push back on Republican lawmakers’ claims of a weaponized Justice Department on Capitol Hill on June 4 amid their threats to hold him in contempt of Congress. “These repeated attacks on the Justice Department are unprecedented and unfounded. These attacks have not, and they will not, influence our decision making,” the attorney general will tell members of the House Judiciary Committee at a 10 a.m. hearing, per an excerpt from his prepared remarks.
