S&P Home Price Index Hits ‘New All-Time High’ in March

U.S. home prices continued to rise in March, with national prices hitting their ninth all-time high over the past year, according to S&P Global. The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price NSA Index, which tracks all major metro markets in the United States, rose 6.5 percent year-over-year in March 2024 to hit a “new all-time high.” The 20-City Composite, which measures home price changes in major U.S. metropolitan regions, rose 7.4 percent during this period. San Diego reported the highest gain among the cities, with home prices surging 11.1 percent, followed by New York at 9.2 percent, and Cleveland at 8.8 percent.
