Iran’s president and foreign minister were killed in a helicopter crash in a mountainous region of the country on Sunday. The U.S. State Department on Monday offered official condolences, but stressed that U.S. foreign policy toward Iran remains unchanged. The International Criminal Court is applying for arrest warrants for leaders of the Hamas terrorist group—as well as for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The UN court has accused them of war crimes and crimes against humanity during Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack and the war in Gaza. President Joe Biden has reacted to the ICC’s arrest warrants, calling them outrageous. He said there is no equivalence between Israel and Hamas, and that the United States will always stand by Israel. House Republican leaders said they are considering a sanctions bill against the UN court....

Teen Human Trafficking Victim Saves Herself by Texting 911

A 17-year-old saved herself recently from becoming a human trafficking victim by texting 911, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said May 16 in a statement.The teenager had been taken from Mexico to Ventura County approximately two months ago, and sent texts May 9 to 911 asking for help, police said.Police found the victim in the area of Casitas Springs, about 8 miles north of the City of Ventura
