Assange Wins Right to Challenge Extradition to the US

The founder of WikiLeaks has won the right to challenge extradition to the United States where he faces espionage charges. In March, Julian Assange’s legal team won an appeal that put the onus on U.S. authorities to give assurances that he would not face the death penalty if extradited. At his final extradition hearing on Monday, the High Court in London decided that Mr. Assange will be able to bring an appeal.
