Judge Rejects Peter Navarro’s Bid to Leave Prison Early

A federal judge on May 15 rejected a bid by former White House official Peter Navarro to leave prison early. Mr. Navarro, who is serving a four-month prison sentence after being convicted of contempt of Congress, filed an emergency motion on May 9 asking to be resentenced. The motion said that U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta, an appointee of President Barack Obama, should add 30 days of supervised release to Mr. Navarro’s sentence.
