Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Chinese communist leader Xi Jinping on May 16, reaffirming their “no limit” partnership amid increasing pressure from the United States and European Union. Mr. Putin arrived in Beijing on the morning of May 16, beginning a two-day state visit at the invitation of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader. It’s Mr. Putin’s first overseas trip since he commenced a new six-year term as president earlier this month.
